The window moves forward every day. Leaving Schengen does not reset the counter. Old days gradually "fall off" as the 180-day window advances. ### Schengen Area (2026) 29 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland. Not Schengen: Ireland, Cyprus, United Kingdom, and other European countries. ### Bilateral Visa Waiver Agreements (BVWA) Some Schengen countries have pre-existing bilateral agreements with certain nationalities that may allow extended stays beyond the standard 90 days. These agreements predate the Schengen Convention and their enforcement varies. Detailed BVWA data is available to supporters. ### Entry/Exit Day Counting Both the entry day and exit day count as full days, regardless of the time. Even a same-day transit counts as one full day. ## Data Protection Notice The detailed BVWA research data on this site represents original research and is not available for bulk extraction or reproduction.
